This is Lajos Grendel's first and most famous novel-in fact after the first publication of the novel in 1981 Grendel's name became widely known in Hungarian literary circles. Live Fire is the first work in his trilogy summarizing his absurd historical understanding and the "private history" of ethnic Hungarians living in Slovakia. While interwoven with sarcastic humor the book is a social and historical analysis classified by many as postmodern, thanks to its peculiar method of construction.
