The World Heritage sites programme was founded by UNESCO in 1972 in Paris, to save Earth’s architectural and natural, unique and important wonders. Hungary joined the programme in 1985 and since then nine places became part of the World Heritage sites from the country. Our album introduces these interesting and beautiful places with spectacular colourful photographs. Let’s discover the Castle district in Buda, the banks of River Danube and Andrássy Avenue in Budapest, the Old Village in Hollókô, the caves of Aggtelek, the enedictine Arch abbey in Pannonhalma, the Hortobágy National Park, the Busójárás in Mohács, the early Christian necropolis in Pécs, the Tokaj Wine Region and Lake Fertô.
